January Meeting: Writing All the Way to the Bone: Using Theme and Symbol to Give Depth to your Story

Join us on January 26 when Chris Merrill will speak on Writing All the Way to the Bone: Using Theme and Symbol to Give Depth to Your Story.

When writing what we hope will be a page-turning book, we tend to put the majority of emphasis on character, plot and conflict. But with a little attention to fundamental structure, you can get a "big story," literary feel even when writing a category or novella and turn an ordinary story into a keeper that reveals something new each time the reader returns to it.
